Online therapy across India

Talk to a verified therapist — in your language, from wherever you are

Saantvana connects you with psychologists, counsellors, psychiatrists and wellness professionals whose identity, qualifications and professional registration we have checked. Sessions happen online, fees are published in rupees, and nothing you write in your journal or assessments is ever shared with an expert.

  • Verified professionals only
  • 10 Indian languages
  • Fees shown before you book

How online therapy works on Saantvana

  1. 1. Understand what you're carrying

Take a free, validated assessment — PHQ-9, GAD-7, DASS-21, WHO-5, burnout or sleep — or simply talk it through with the AI companion.

  2. 2. Find someone who speaks your language

Filter verified experts by language, specialty, consultation mode, district and fee. Every profile shows qualifications and registration status.

  3. 3. Book a slot that fits your life

Pick a session length and a published weekly slot. Evening and weekend availability is common.

  4. 4. Meet online, from anywhere

Join from home, a hostel room or a parked car. In-person appointments are available where an expert offers them.

What people bring to their first session

You don't need a diagnosis to start. These are the concerns our experts most often work with — each profile lists that professional's own areas of focus.

  • Anxiety and panic
  • Depression and low mood
  • Work stress and burnout
  • Exam and academic pressure
  • Relationship and marital concerns
  • Family and in-law conflict
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Grief and loss
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • Anger and irritability
  • Loneliness and life transitions
  • Health anxiety

Therapy in the language you think in

Emotional vocabulary rarely translates cleanly. Saantvana's directory, companion and assessments work in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati and Punjabi — so you can describe what's happening without first converting it into English.

Online therapy in India — common questions

Is online therapy effective in India?
Online sessions give you the same conversation you would have in a clinic room, without travel or waiting rooms. For many people in India it is also the only realistic way to see a professional who speaks their language, understands their family context and has appointments outside office hours.
How much does online therapy cost in India?
Every Saantvana expert publishes their own hourly fee in rupees, and the page shows the exact price for each session length before you confirm. There are no consultation surcharges added at checkout, and you can compare fees across the directory.
Which languages are available?
Saantvana supports English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati and Punjabi. You can filter the expert directory by language so your first session doesn't start with translation.
How are therapists verified?
We check identity and qualifications for every professional, and for regulated professions we confirm the registration with the issuing authority before the profile goes live. Registration numbers and documents stay private — only the verified badge is public.
Is my information private?
Your journal entries, assessment answers and companion conversations are never shared with experts. An expert only sees what you choose to tell them in session, plus the booking itself.
Can I talk to someone before booking a paid session?
Yes. The AI companion is available any time, the clinical assessments are free, and trained listeners are available for peer support. Many people use those first and book an expert once they know what kind of help they want.
What if I'm in crisis right now?
Please use the crisis support page for immediate helplines across India, including Tele-MANAS (14416). Therapy bookings are not a substitute for emergency support.
